Six stocks added to F&O from 28 October 2026: names, lot sizes and what a lot means

NSE started futures and options (F&O) contracts on six more stocks on 28 October 2026. Here are the names and lot sizes exactly as NSE published them, and what a lot size means if you are new to F&O.

Published 4 November 2026 · Potoos Research Services

The short answer. From 28 October 2026, F&O contracts are available on Coromandel International (lot size 300 shares), City Union Bank (2,325), Data Patterns (India) (125), Karur Vysya Bank (1,550), Navin Fluorine International (75) and Syrma SGS Technology (325). NSE announced the six names on 14 October 2026 and the lot sizes on 27 October 2026.

What a lot size means

In F&O you cannot buy or sell any number of shares you like. Every futures or options contract is for a fixed quantity, called the lot size. You trade in whole lots: one lot, two lots, and so on.

Our option trading for beginners page explains premium, strike and expiry in plain words.

Strike price gaps for the new options

NSE's Annexure A to the same circular sets how far apart option strike prices are. For the near-month contracts:

COROMANDEL2040
CUB510
DATAPATTNS100200
KARURVYSYA510
NAVINFLUOR100200
SYRMA2040

A step of 100 means strikes are listed 100 rupees apart in that range, for example 1,900, 2,000 and 2,100. The annexure also sets the steps for mid-month and far-month contracts.

How NSE picked them

“…based on the stock selection criteria as prescribed by SEBI vide master circular no. SEBI/HO/MRD-PoD2/CIR/P/2024/00181 dated December 30, 2024 and approval received from SEBI, members are hereby notified that the futures and options contracts on following securities would be available for trading w.e.f. October 28, 2026, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria of Quarter sigma computation cycle of October 2026.”

NSE circular NSE/FAOP/76899, 14 October 2026

The 14 October circular made the start conditional. NSE's 27 October circular then gave the lot sizes for the six securities “which will be available for trading from October 28, 2026”. So all six started on 28 October.

F&O entry means a stock met SEBI's selection criteria for derivatives. The circulars say nothing about the companies' business, results or share price, and F&O entry is not a rating of the company.

Position limits

NSE Clearing's circular NCL/CMPT/77139 (27 October 2026) sets the market-wide position limit for each of the six stocks, along with limits for trading members, foreign portfolio investors, mutual funds and client-level limits, effective from 28 October 2026. These cap how many shares' worth of open F&O positions can be held.

What changes if you only hold the shares

Nothing in your demat account changes. Your shares stay the same. The circulars add a new way for people to trade these stocks through futures and options; they do not affect a shareholder's holding.

Two of the six have filed results recently. Read the filings in plain words: Navin Fluorine Q2 FY27 results and Syrma SGS Q2 FY27 results.

What these words mean

F&O (futures and options) are contracts whose value comes from a stock's price. They trade in fixed lots and expire on set dates.

Lot size is the fixed number of shares in one futures or options contract.

Strike price is the price at which an option gives the right to buy (call) or sell (put).

Market-wide position limit (MWPL) is the cap on total open F&O positions in a stock across the whole market.

Common questions

Which stocks were added to F&O on 28 October 2026?

Six stocks: Coromandel International (COROMANDEL), City Union Bank (CUB), Data Patterns (India) (DATAPATTNS), Karur Vysya Bank (KARURVYSYA), Navin Fluorine International (NAVINFLUOR) and Syrma SGS Technology (SYRMA), under NSE circulars NSE/FAOP/76899 and NSE/FAOP/77133.

What are the lot sizes of the new F&O stocks?

NSE/FAOP/77133 sets COROMANDEL 300, CUB 2,325, DATAPATTNS 125, KARURVYSYA 1,550, NAVINFLUOR 75 and SYRMA 325 shares per lot.

What does lot size mean?

It is the fixed number of shares in one futures or options contract. You trade in whole lots. For an option, the amount you pay for one lot is the per-share premium multiplied by the lot size.

Does F&O entry change anything for someone who holds the shares?

No. The shares in your demat account stay the same. F&O entry adds futures and options contracts on the stock; it is not a rating of the company.
