In short. For July to September 2026, CDSL reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 394.48 crore, up 23.7% from Rs 318.88 crore a year earlier, and a profit for shareholders of Rs 173.85 crore, up 24.0% from Rs 140.21 crore.
The numbers
The first two tables are consolidated, in Rs crore, as printed in the company's statement of consolidated results. The change column is worked out by us. Unlike most companies, CDSL's quarterly results are audited, not just reviewed.
| Item | Jul to Sep 2026 | Jul to Sep 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | 394.48 | 318.88 | +23.7% |
| Total income (revenue plus other income) | 417.30 | 341.37 | +22.2% |
| Net profit after tax | 173.30 | 139.93 | +23.8% |
| Profit attributable to shareholders of the company | 173.85 | 140.21 | +24.0% |
| Basic and diluted EPS (Rs) | 8.32 | 6.71 | +24.0% |
| Item | Apr to Sep 2026 | Apr to Sep 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | 687.24 | 577.70 | +19.0% |
| Total income | 757.80 | 636.53 | +19.1% |
| Net profit after tax | 290.97 | 242.34 | +20.1% |
| Profit attributable to shareholders of the company | 291.36 | 242.58 | +20.1% |
| Basic and diluted EPS (Rs) | 13.94 | 11.61 | +20.1% |
CDSL also filed standalone results, for the depository on its own without its subsidiaries:
| Item | Jul to Sep 2026 | Jul to Sep 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | 338.74 | 271.81 | +24.6% |
| Net profit after tax | 163.34 | 127.50 | +28.1% |
| Basic and diluted EPS (Rs) | 7.82 | 6.10 | +28.2% |
There is no exceptional item line in the statements. The profit for shareholders is slightly higher than the net profit because a small loss belongs to minority holders of subsidiaries. The company's notes say the quarter figures are worked out as the difference between the audited six-month and audited three-month figures. One note covers an arbitral award in the matter of Anugrah Stock & Broking Private Limited, a terminated depository participant: CDSL has challenged it before the Bombay High Court, and management has assessed that no impact needs to be booked for the six months.
A separate matter: SEBI's penalty order
On 30 October 2026, SEBI's adjudicating officer passed an order against CDSL (Adjudication Order No. Order/JS/RJ/2026-27/32798). CDSL disclosed it to NSE the same evening. What the two documents say:
- Penalty: Rs 1,00,00,000 (Rs 1 crore) under Section 15HB of the SEBI Act, 1992.
- The matter: an inspection of CDSL for FY 2023-24, with observations on operational and IT related matters.
- Payment: the order says the penalty is to be paid within 45 days of receiving the order.
- CDSL's disclosure says: “There is no material impact on financials, operation or other activities of the Company, except the payment of the proposed penalty amount.”
The order is dated 30 October 2026, after the quarter ended on 30 September 2026. The notes to the results do not mention it.
