The numbers

The first two tables are consolidated, from the company’s statement of consolidated results. Dr. Lal PathLabs reports in Rs million (it writes INR million), so the figures are copied as filed; ten million make one crore, so Rs 8,739 million is Rs 873.9 crore. The change column is worked out by us from the filing’s own numbers.

There were no exceptional items in the quarters or half years shown. Of the quarter’s profit of Rs 1,939 million, Rs 17 million belonged to outside shareholders in subsidiaries the company does not fully own (non-controlling interest). EPS is not annualised for quarters.

Why last year’s EPS looks lower than what was reported then. The company issued bonus shares in the ratio 1:1 (one new share for each share held) in December 2025, allotting 8,37,75,510 bonus shares on 22 December 2025. Under the accounting rules, EPS for July to September 2025 has been restated to give effect to the bonus shares, so Rs 9.03 is the comparable figure. The bonus issue did not change profit.

Against the previous quarter (April to June 2026), consolidated revenue from operations was higher: Rs 8,739 million against Rs 7,977 million, a change of +9.6%. Consolidated profit for the period was Rs 1,939 million against Rs 1,705 million, a change of +13.7%.

What the company said

The company’s press release, filed with NSE on 4 November 2026, carries this headline:

“Dr Lal PathLabs Limited records revenue of Rs 874 Cr with a growth of 19.6% in Q2 FY27”

Dr. Lal PathLabs Limited, press release, 4 November 2026

The Rs 874 crore is the Rs 8,739 million of revenue from operations in the results, rounded. The notes to the results also say:

  • During the half year the company bought 100% of Shahbazkers Diagnostic Centre Private Limited on 1 May 2026 for Rs 200 million in cash, and its Dubai subsidiary bought an 80% stake in Sunshine Healthcare Limited in Ghana, which the auditors list as a step-down subsidiary from 4 August 2026. Both businesses are in the 2026 figures.
  • The purchase of a 70% stake in SN Genelab Private Limited, a genomics diagnostics company, for up to Rs 1,680 million in cash plus a performance-linked amount capped at Rs 315 million, was completed on 1 October 2026, after the quarter ended. It is not in these figures.

At the same meeting, the board appointed Ms. Vasuta Agarwal as an additional, independent director for three years, subject to shareholder approval, and approved a further investment of up to Rs 49.5 crore in its Dubai subsidiary, Dr. Lal PathLabs FZCO.

What the auditors said

The figures are unaudited. The statutory auditors, Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, carried out a limited review, which is lighter than a full audit, and the company’s notes say they expressed an unmodified conclusion. The consolidated report notes that six subsidiaries and one associate were included on figures certified by management and not reviewed by auditors, which management told them are not material to the group. It says its conclusion is not modified in respect of this matter.

What these words mean

Consolidated and standalone: consolidated figures add up Dr. Lal PathLabs Limited and its subsidiaries, such as Paliwal Diagnostics, as one group. Standalone figures cover Dr. Lal PathLabs Limited alone.

Bonus issue: free extra shares given to existing shareholders. A 1:1 bonus doubles the number of shares, so profit per share halves, and the company restates last year’s EPS so the two years can be compared.

Interim dividend and record date: an interim dividend is paid during the year, before the annual accounts. The record date is the day the company checks its list of shareholders to decide who gets it.

Rs million: ten lakh rupees. Ten million make one crore.

Q2 FY27: the second quarter of the financial year that runs from April 2026 to March 2027.
