Bad loans and capital
These lines are reported for the bank on its own (standalone), as at the last day of the quarter. The consolidated statement does not give them. For the ratio lines, the change is shown in percentage points.

|---|---|---|---|
| Gross NPAs (Rs crore) | 72,529.08 | 76,243.04 | −4.9% |

The one-time gain in this quarter
The standalone profit includes an “exceptional item” of Rs 7,288.47 crore. In the bank's own words, from note 10 of the results:
“Pursuant to regulatory approval obtained from the Reserve Bank of India, the Bank has divested its 6.30% stake comprising 12,83,34,397 equity shares in SBI Funds Management Limited (a subsidiary) through pre-IPO and Offer for Sale under IPO. Consequently, the stake of Bank in SBI Funds Management Limited stands at 55.56% as on 30th September 2026.”
State Bank of India, results filing, 3 November 2026, note 10
The same quarter last year also had a one-time gain: Rs 4,593.22 crore (before tax) from selling a 13.18% stake in Yes Bank Ltd. So both quarters in the table above include a stake-sale gain. In the consolidated results the gains are Rs 6,879.26 crore this year and Rs 3,026.57 crore last year, after accounting adjustments the notes describe.
The notes also say the bank sold part of its stake in National Stock Exchange (post-tax profit of Rs 2,409.63 crore) and in ARCIL (Rs 81.46 crore) in September 2026. Under RBI rules these profits went straight to the capital reserve, not through the profit and loss account, so they are not in the profit figures on this page.
